The death toll from multiple explosions at a military base in the port city of Bata, in Equatorial Guinea, now stands at 98.

Confirming the incident, the Central African country's Ministry of Health said the number of people who sustained injuries in the Sunday, March 7, tragedy has risen to 615.
According to CNN, the country's President Teodoro Nguema linked the disaster to negligence in handling dynamite.
He added that the blast damaged almost all houses and buildings in Bata city which has over 250,000 people.

Images published by the country's local media showed bodies wrapped in sheets and lined up on the side of a road, with children being pulled out from under piles of broken concrete and twisted metal.
In a separate story, a car bomb blast in the Somali's capital Mogadishu killed at least 20 people leaving more than 30 others seriously wounded.
In the Friday, March 7, incident, a car packed with explosives was exploded at the gates of Luul Yemeni restaurant near the port at around 8 p.m (12 p.m. EAT).
According to Captain Aden Osman, a senior police officer in the capital, the explosion was followed by heavy gunfire.
The terror group Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack through a statement posted on its affiliated sites.
