Gotterba said the Hollywood star had been romantically involved with his ex-pilot - but Travolta has hit back at the suggestion, saying there is no truth in the rumour.

The actor told The Daily Beast this week: "This is every celebrity's Achilles heel... It's just about people wanting money. That's all. It happens on many levels."

Travolta added that he's grown used to rumours surrounding his personal life and he's now largely unaffected by such speculation.

The actor - who is married to Kelly Preston - explained: "Also, I don't care that much about it. Other people may attack it back more than I do, but I let all the media stuff go a long time ago because I can't control it. I think that's why it persists, to some degree."

However, the 60-year-old veteran actor did say he is bothered when his family life is brought into the public spotlight. "Sex stuff is always going to be interesting to somebody, but you stay away from family."
